Dear Sir,

I am writing as a shareholder of Starbucks Corporation, a U.S.-listed company, to express my concern that recent actions and public statements by Korean government-related entities regarding Starbucks Korea may negatively affect the value of my investment and impair my rights and interests as a U.S. shareholder.

While I understand that private citizens may express criticism or choose whether to purchase from a company, it is a different matter when government ministries, public agencies, or public-sector organizations appear to encourage or participate in the exclusion of a specific U.S.-branded business from public purchasing, events, or promotional use. Such actions may create reputational damage, commercial disadvantage, and financial harm to Starbucks Corporation, its brand value, and ultimately its shareholders.

As a Starbucks shareholder, I am concerned that politically driven public-sector pressure in Korea could unfairly damage the company’s business interests, reduce shareholder value, and interfere with the fair treatment of a U.S.-branded commercial enterprise operating under the U.S.-Korea economic relationship.

I respectfully request that your office review whether these developments may constitute discriminatory or unfair government-linked pressure against a U.S.-branded business, and whether they raise concerns under applicable trade, investment, or fair-treatment principles between the United States and the Republic of Korea.

I further ask that the relevant U.S. authorities encourage Korean government bodies to ensure that public-sector purchasing and policy decisions are made in a neutral, transparent, and non-discriminatory manner, without politically motivated targeting of a specific U.S.-branded company.
