34 Chinese women rescued from Cebu prostitution ring

According to NBI 7 Director Tomas Enrile, seven NBI agents posed as customers, on Monday, and were able to pay P35,000 for each of three Chinese ladies so that they could take them out.
 
This entrapment operation led to the arrest of Zeng Dan, Quan Yiqing, Xiuzhu Wei and Xiushen Wei who will be charged with violation of the Republic Act 9208 (Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003) in relation to RA 10364 or the “Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2012”.
 
 

Then on the strength of a search warrant issued by Executive Judge Joseph Stephen Ygnacio of the Regional Trial Court Judge in Lapu-Lapu City, NBI 7 raided the bar and rescued the 34 female Chinese nationals.
 
In a press briefing Monday, Enrile also said customers were being charged for the use of an exclusive VIP room and another P7,500 for every entertainer.
 
Enrile added that investigation showed that the rescued women were recruited to work for an online gaming company, but ended up working as guest relations officers (GRO) when they arrived in Lapu-Lapu.
 
The rescued women, who came from different provinces in China, were turned over to the Chinese Consular Office.
 
 

Enrile said follow-up investigation will be conducted to find out if the four suspects have cohorts in their illegal activities.

Cebu City, Philippines — The National Bureau of Investigation Central Visayas Region Office (NBI-7) on Monday, August 5, 2019, filed anti-trafficking charges against four Chinese women who allegedly trafficked 34 fellow Chinese women in a KTV bar in Barangay Agus, Lapu-Lapu City.
 
The four women who were arrested were Zeng Dan, 28 years old; Quan Yiqing, 27 years old; Xiuzhu Wei, 45 years old; and Xiushen Wei, 44 years old.
 
They are believed to be the managers of the 34 women who were rescued in an operation conducted by NBI agents of Manila and Cebu on Friday evening, August 2, 2019, in a hotel compound that was reported for prostitution activity.

The four will be facing charges for violating the provisions of Republic Act 9208, known as Anti-trafficking of Persons Act, in relation to Republic Act 10364 or the Act Expanding RA 9208.
 
Four other female Chinese nationals, identified as Lingyuan Hunag, Xiabing Lin, Zhang Yue, and Li Ping, were also identified as mangers of the bar and will face the same charges but they remain at large as they weren’t in the area during the operation. The NBI-7 said it will continue to investigate the case to trace the four others at large.
 
The 34 women who were rescued were turned over to the Chinese Consular Office.
 
According to NBI 7 Regional Director Tomas Enrile, based on their investigation, the 34 women aged 25 to 30 years old were recruited to work for a Legal Online Gaming Operation (LOGO) in the Philippines. But upon entering the country, they were instead made to work as Guest Relations Officers (GRO) in the KTV bar, where they were tasked to serve and entertain costumers. /bmjo

Kathmandu: Once the destination of trekkers and pilgrims, the Himalayan Shangri-la of Nepal is now becoming a hub of foreign sex workers with a bustling network of international procurers and clients.
Nepal`s police began the first crackdown on international sex trade Wednesday when a nocturnal raid in one of the best locatoins of the capital netted them six Chinese sex workers, who were caught red-handed with six Nepali customers.
 
Superintendent Nabaraj Silwal said police became aware of the network about two months ago when they put under surveillance a three-storey mansion in Thamel, Kathmandu`s tourist hub.
 
The house is located behind a former Rana palace that now is the Education Ministry, and is close to the former royal palace, which is now a national museum.
 
It was rented by a Chinese couple about two months ago. The nine-bedroom mansion had been converted into a bordello with six sex workers flown in from China.
 
During the raid, police came across a large TV screen, CDs of blue films, Chinese-made spirits and condoms.
 
While the man who was running the network was arrested along with the women and their clients, his wife managed to escape.
 
Silwal said investigations are on into other tipoffs received by police.
 
"We have learnt that there are similar bordellos with foreign sex workers, like Palestinians, Africans and Indians," he told.
 
"Most of them fly in from New Delhi, stay for a week and then leave.
 
"The bookings are done in advance and the customers are well-heeled people."
 
The Naya Patrika daily, which broke the news Thursday and carried a photograph of the women being taken to hospital for health examinations, said the Chinese bordello was charging NRS 25,000 for a one-night stand and more if the women were asked to step out with customers.
 
After New Delhi police turned the heat on foreign prostitutes operating in the Indian capital where they used to fly in on tourist visas, the network began spreading to Nepal.
 
Growing connecting flights between the two countries, meant to boost tourism, have also been promoting inter-country sex trade.
 
Silwal said the racket involved huge sums of money.
 
People living in the neighbourhood told police that they used to see expensive cars going up to the mansion, driven by Nepalis as well as foreigners.
 
Indian Home Secretary G.K. Pillai is arriving in Kathmandu Thursday for talks with Nepali officials on controlling cross-border crime and other issues.

JAKARTA (THE JAKARTA POST/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - Indonesian authorities have arrested 76 female Chinese nationals - some of whom are believed to be sex workers - in a raid against illegal immigrants on New Year's Eve, an official said on Sunday (Jan 1).
 
"It's a record for us. Many have been arrested and all are women. They were arrested for violating permits," said Yurod Saleh, a director from the Immigration Office at the Law and Human Rights Ministry.
 
Yurod said some of the women, aged between 18 and 30, were netted while working as singing guides at karaoke parlors in Jakarta.

이민국 단속반이 지난 31일 밤 서부자카르타에 소재한 썬시티 나이트클럽에서 중국인 성매매 여성 76명을 체포했다. 이들은 18~30대 여성들로 적게는 280만 루피아, 많게는 5백만 루피아 등 서비스료를 받아온 것으로 드러났다. 이들은 현재 땅으랑에 있는 이민국 구치소에 구금돼 있다.
방문비자로 입국한 성매매 여성들은 이민국에 의해 곧 본국 송환 조치될 예정으로 보이나 경우에 따라 인도네시아 이민법을 어겼기 때문에 최대 5년형에 처할 가능성도 있다고 현지 언론이 전했다.

The defendant entered Brunei on April 17, 2017 on a social visit pass, DPP Kamaliah binti Ibrahim informed the court.

EIGHT women were each sentenced yesterday to serve two months in jail after they pleaded guilty to the joint charges of loitering for the purpose of prostitution.
 
The defendants are Chinese national aged between 18 and 32 years old who were on a social visit pass in Brunei.
 
They were arrested during a raid on July 15 at a hotel room in Kiulap following a public tip-off to the police on an alleged prostitution ring at the hotel.
 
The court document submitted by prosecuting officer Mohammad Danial DSP Hj Kifrawi stated that during the raid, police found the women loitering at the hotel room for the purpose of prostitution and they also found and seized items used for the purpose of soliciting sex such as condoms and lubricants.

A CHINESE woman was charged in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday, for allegedly engaging in prostitution.
 
No plea was taken from Yunfeng Zeng, 28, as Senior Magistrate Lailatul Zubaidah binti Hussain allowed time for the police investigations to be completed.
 
DPP Pengiran Hajah Nor’ Azmeena binti Pengiran Haji Mohiddin’s charges stated that the defendant offered her sexual services to a man at a hotel in Bandar Seri Begawan, for the amount of BND$100, on the afternoon of December 27.
 
The court fixed December 30 for further mention of the case.

한편 말레이시아 정부가 2004년부터 올해 7월까지 1만5천여 명의 외국인 매춘부를 체포했는데 그 중 62%가 중국 여성들이라는 사실도 사람들을 놀라게 했다. 중국 매춘여성들은 거의 푸젠(福建)성 등 중국 남방지역에서 왔는데 대개 범죄단체에 의해 유괴되었으며 유흥가에서 끊임없는 말썽을 일으키고 있다.
 
싱가포르에서 발행되는 중국어 일간지 연합조보(?合早?)는 지난 5일 상하이의 한 여성 기업인이 말레이시아 친구와 함께 술집에 들어가려다 “중국 여성은 들어오지 못한다”며 쫓겨난 사건을 보도했다. 이러한 사실이 인터넷 등을 통해 중국인들에게 알려지면서 중국인들의 감정을 더욱 부채질하고 있다.
 
지난해 잇따른 중국 여성들의 성적 모욕 사건에 대해 말레이시아 정부는 중국에 외교사절을 파견해 직접 사과한 바 있다.

Three persons including two Chinese women and a Sri Lankan who were in remand custody for allegedly operating a mobile prostitution ring were released on bail by the Colombo Fort Magistrate today.
 
Accordingly, the three suspects were released on two sureties of Rs.100,000 each by Magistrate Kanishka Wijeratne. Meanwhile, the Magistrate issued an order on the Controller of Immigration and Emigration to prevent the two Chinese women from leaving the country. Uyghurs have complained that although the government has set strict rules banning Muslim praying, fasting and other religious activities to maintain ‘social stability’ and national security, it has failed to ban the illegal activities of Han sex workers and continued to allow red-light districts, he said.
